2005 Largehearted Favorite Books

2005 was a huge reading year for me. Not only did I read a book a week for my 52 Books, 52 Weeks project, but I read every submission for "Book Notes," as well as several music books and almost everything that was sent my way by friends, family, publishers, and readers. The unofficial tally is over 100 books, but the quality this year was much more important than the quantity. Thanks to 52 Books, 52 Weeks, I have received many quality recommendations from LHB readers. Having a sponsor, Atomic Books, for the project this year also helped guide me to books, especially graphic novels, that would otherwise have been off my radar.

Here is my list of eleven books, mostly published in 2005, that I enjoyed the most. The links go to either my "52 Books, 52 Weeks" review or the author's "Book Notes" submission (preceded by a short review).
