This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (October 23rd, 2007)
The ten-disc Stanley Kubrick - Warner Home Video Directors Series is released this week, and includes five films by the legendary director (2001: A Space Odyssey - Special Edition, A Clockwork Orange: Special Edition, Eyes Wide Shut: Special Edition, Full Metal Jacket: Deluxe Edition, The Shining: Special Edition, along with a documentary about the filmmaker, Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures. Also released this week are Kubrick's Lolita and Barry Lyndon, along with individual titles from the box set.
The Criterion Collection releases two of my favorite films of all time tomorrow, Terrence Malick's Day's of Heaven and Jean-Luc Godard's Breathless.
The Sopranos: Season 6 Part 2 and the first season of American Gangster are the highlights of television releases this week.
I wish I could recommend some music video releases, but when the highlights are live performances by the Atlanta Rhythm Section and Heart, I got nothin'.
