This Week's Interesting CD Releases (November 6th, 2007)
As the year winds down, the release lists get shorter and the discs I am highly anticipating and can truly recommend become fewer and fewer. This week's list of new releases is a great example of both. Team Love reissues the Bright Eyes live album, Motion Sickness (notable for covers of Feist's "Mushaboom" and Elliott Smith's "The Biggest Lie"), a disc I can wholly recommend, along with Hvarf/Heim by Sigur Ros, Richard Youngs' Autumn Response, and Grizzly Bear's Friend EP.
This week's other reissuess hold the true shine for me. Neko Case fans can revel in three reissues: Blacklisted, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood (with bonus disc), and Furnace Room Lullaby. Secretely Canadian has remastered two albums by esteemed (yet unfairly obscure) psych-rocker Bobb Trimble: Harvest of Dreams and Iron Curtain Innocence (both with bonus tracks). One of my favorite singer-songwriters, Sarah Douger, is reissuing her 2005 album, Harper's Arrow.
