This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (November 25th, 2008)
Celebrate the holidays with Stephen Colbert this week with A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All, which features performances by Feist, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, and much more.
Will Smith's quirky superhero film, Hancock, is also out on DVD tomorrow.
Other feature films on my shortlist to rent or buy this week include the Criterion Collection releases of the film adaptation of John Le Carre's The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Wong Kar-Wai's Chungking Express, and Wes Anderson's Bottle Rocket along with the animated Superman: Doomsday.
David Lynch's personally curated 10-DVD box set, The Lime Green Set comes with a "mystery disc" of unreleased footage.
A Man Named Pearl, a documentary about topiary sculptor Pearl Fryar is fascinating.
Television releases are slim this week, the most notable being the sixth season of Beverly Hills 90210.
