This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (March 10th, 2009)
Sean Penn's unforgettable performance as Harvey Milk makes Milk truly an unforgettable film, and one I could not recommend enough.
Plenty of other quality feature films are out this week, including MIke Leigh's Happy-Go-Lucky, Let The Right One In, Rachel Getting Married, and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman's ambitious directorial debut, Synecdoche New York
Notable box office disappointment Howard the Duck also sees its DVD debut this week.
Disney fans can revel in the 70th anniversary edition of the animated classic Pinocchio, as well as special editions of Escape to Witch Mountain and Return from Witch Mountain.
Stock up your Blu-ray library with Brokeback Mountain and Seven.
What looks good among the television releases? The first (and only) season of Debra Messing's The Starter Wife, the second season of Caroline in the City, and the twelfth season of South Park stand out, but I am most tempted by the collected BBC series, Cracker, which featured Robbie Coltrane in his unforgettable role as a forensic psychologist.
