This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (March 17th, 2009)
The blockbuster vampire flick Twilight hits stores tomorrow in a relatively slow week for DVD releases..
The Murnau box set collects six classic 1920's films (Nosferatu, Faust, The Last Laugh, Tartuffe, The Haunted Castle, The Finances of the Grand Duke) by director F.W. Murnau,a nd is at the top of my shopping list. Akira Kurosawa's first color film, Dodes'ka-Den is available for the first time on DVD.
The Three Stooges Collection, Vol. 5: 1946-1948 collects Curly's final episodes as well as the return of Shemp to the madcap trio. Other notable television releases in stores tomorrow include the tenth season of Married With Children, and the third seaon of Barney Miller.
Beef up your Blu-ray collections with new editions of The Princess Bride and the television miniseries Tin Man (which features Zooey Deschanel).
