This Week's Interesting Music Releases (October 13th, 2009)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, especially among this week's music releases. Bob Dylan's Christmas In the Heart is in stores tomorrow, along with Aretha Franklin's This Christmas, the Jackson 5's Ultimate Christmas Collection, and Neil Diamond's A Cherry Cherry Christmas. I'm definitely picking up the Dylan disc and Putumayo Presents: A Family Christmas.
At the top of my shopping list are two 7" singles, Andrew Bird's Anonanimal and Devendra Banhart's Baby. The Flaming Lips' Embryonic is also out tomorrow.
I can strongly recommend Erin McKeown's Hundreds of Lions, Grant Lee Phillips' Little Moon, Little Girls' Concepts, and Nellie McKay's Normal as Blueberry Pie: A Tribute to Doris Day.
Vinyl editions of Built To Spill's There Is No Enemy (with CD), Viva Voce's Rose City, and Monsters Of Folk's self-titled album are also in stores tomorrow.
