This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (October 20th, 2009)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is in stores tomorrow, as well as Transformers: 25th Anniversary Matrix Of Leadership Edition (a 16-DVD box set that contains the complete 98-episode animated series).
Other feature films out tomorrow include a Criterion Collection edition of Monsoon Wedding and Stephen Frears' Cheri.
Remastered complete series collections of Black Adder and Fawlty Towers highlight the week's television releases, along with Homicide: Life on the Street - The Complete Series. Other television DVDs out tomorrow include the complete series of one of my favorite sitcoms, It's Garry Shandling's Show, Numb3rs: The Complete Fifth Season, and The L Word: Final Season
I have been on a documentary kick this year, and four stand out this week. The Achievers: The Story Of The Lebowski Fans profiles hardcore fans of The Big Lebowski, The Listening Project gathers world opinion about the United States, I Am Because We Are is Madonna's Malawi documentary touching on the poverty and health crises of that African country, and Foodmatters, a film that correlates diet with health.
Blu-ray releases this week include the classic Easy Rider, the not-so-classicWaterworld, and the effortlessly classic Leonard Cohen: Isle of Wight concert video.
