This Week's Interesting Music Releases (January 26th, 2010)
As the year progresses, the music release gets get longer. This week is the strongest yet of 2010, and is filled with quality music.
Magnetic Fields: Realism, Stephin Merritt's self-proclaimed folk album, is in stores tomorrow.
Of the albums released so far in 2010, Basia Bulat's Heart of My Own and Beach House's Teen Dream are two of my favorites. Patty Griffin's Downtown Church is yet another exquisitely crafted album from the great singer-songwriter.
I can also strongly recommend Charlotte Gainsbourg's collaborative album with Beck, IRM, Los Campesinos!'s Romance is Boring, Oh No Ono's Eggs, Retribution Gospel Choir's 2, and Scout Niblett's Calcination of Scout Niblett.
The week's reissue highlights include Animal Collective's Campfire Songs and a remastered edition of David Bowie's live album A Reality Tour, complete with bonus tracks.
