This Week's Interesting Music Releases (March 30, 2010)
Of all the albums released this week that I have already heard, I Will Be by the Dum Dum Girls is easily my favorite (and also one of the year's standout releases yet).
The Living Sisters' Love to Live combines the talents of singer songwriters Inara George (The Bird and the Bee), Becky Stark (Lavender Diamond) and Eleni Mandell to wonderful effect.
Other albums worth picking up this week include Annuals' Sweet Sister, Wooden Shjips' Vol. 2, Angus & Julia Stone's Down The Way, and Holly Golightly & the Brokeoffs' Medicine County.
If you have deep pockets, the 6-disc limited edition box set of The White Stripes' Under Great White Northern Lights live album includes a double LP, a CD, and three DVDs.
Three remastered Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds albums (The Good Son, Henry's Dream, Tender Prey) are in stores tomorrow, each digitally remastered and remixed for 5.1 Surround Sound.
After being released last week in the UK, the three remastered Galaxie 500 albums (On Fire, This Is Our Music, Today) see their stateside debut tomorrow, each with a bonus CD of additional material.
Catherine Wheel's Ferment is also reissued this week with six bonus tracks.
