At 496 oversized pages, The Essential Wonder Woman Encyclopedia is just this side of overwhelming. Not only is the comic book character's story presented, but short biographies of every major character are listed in alphabetical order. The black-and-white artwork is stunning and is plentiful throughout the book, and the two 16-page color inserts truly bring the character to life.
Before I paged through The Essential Wonder Woman Encyclopedia, I was only familiar with Wonder Woman from the Lynda Carter television series and the occasional Justice League cartoon, this book has inspired me to catch up on the comics as well.
