This Week's Interesting Music Releases (April 6, 2010)
Here Lies Love is a collaboration between David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, and the 2-CD album (a song cycle about the life of Imelda Marcos) contains additional contributions from Nellie McKay, Steve Earle, Tori Amos, and a host of other guest vocalists.
Other albums I can strongly recommend this week are Robyn Hitchcock's latest solo effort Propellor Time, Black Prairie's Feast of the Hunters' Moon, Olaf Arnalds' Vid Og Vid, Hacienda's Big Red & Barbacoa, Monster Movie's Everyone Is a Ghost, and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings' I Learned The Hard Way.
This week Sub Pop releases two Elliott Smith remastered albums, From a Basement on the Hill and Roman Candle. David Bowie's 1967 self-titled album has also been remastered, and includes a CD of bonus tracks.
