This Week's Interesting DVD Releases (May 11, 2010)
Daria: The Complete Animated Series, one of the best animated shows television has ever produced, is on store shelves tomorrow, and includes all five seasons as well as both movies.
The other television releases I am most looking forward to are the third season of thirtysomething and Hell's Kitchen: Season 2.
With Ridley Scott's new Robin Hood film in theaters Friday, a variety of past films featuring the hero from Sherwood Forest are out tomorrow, including a Blu-ray edition of Mel Brooks' Robin Hood: Men in Tights, the animated Mr. Magoo In Sherwood Forest, and several theatrical releases from the 40s and 50s (Bandit of Sherwood Forest, Prince of Thieves, Rogues of Sherwood Forest, and Sword of Sherwood Forest.
The week's Blu-ray releases include the Criterion Collection's edition of Fritz Lang's M and two more Mel Brooks films (History of the World Part 1 and High Anxiety).
Essential Art House: Kurosawa Collection offers three of the acclaimed Japanese director's films (Hidden Fortress, Ikiru, Throne of Blood) in one box set.
