This Week's Interesting Music Releases - May 18, 2010
Band of Horses' Infinite Armsis one of 2010's most anticipated albums, and to my ears is the band's best effort yet.
The highly lauded (and rightly so) LCD Soundsystem's This Is Happening is also on store shelves tomorrow, as is The Black Keys' Brothers.
Of the remaining new releases, I can definitely recommend Tracey Thorn's Love and its Opposite, The Sadies' Darker Circles, Pearly Gate Music's self-titled album, and Club 8's The People's Record.
Sing Me To Sleep - Indie Lullabies collects covers of children's songs by indie artists (Tanya Donelly, Dean & Britta, Jenny Owens Youngs and others). If your baby doesn't like that album, you can always spin Rockabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of Kanye West.
The biggest reissue of the week is the Rolling Stones' remastered Exile on Main St. album, with bonus tracks available on the deluxe editions. Other reissues worth noting are DEVO's New Traditionalists (remastered with bonus tracks), and The Jayhawks' self-titled release (known to fans as the Bunkhouse Album).
