This Week's Interesting Music Releases - June 1, 2010
Memorial Day week offers a shorter than usual list of new music releases.
Tift Merritt releases her fourth album, See You On The Moon, tomorrow, and her stellar songwriting has never sounded better (thanks to producer Tucker Martine).
Sleigh Bells' Treats (easily one of my favorite albums of the year) is out on CD tomorrow after being available digitally for a couple of weeks.
From what I have already heard, I can also recommend Gemma Ray's It's a Shame About Gemma Ray, Elk City's House of Tongues, Good Old War's self-titled album, and Unbunny's Moon Food.
The Drive-By Truckers' The Big To-Do is out on vinyl tomorrow.
The reissue crop this week are thin as well, I only plan to buy Fela Kuti's Open & Close/Afrodisiac (as I wait for next week's CD release of The Cure's Disintegration).
