This Week's Interesting Music Releases - June 15, 2010
Time Flies...1994-2009 , the Oasis singles collection, collects all 26 UK singles plus one US single by the band, and is in stores tomorrow on 2 CDs and 5-LP box set.
Early summer brings slow release weeks, and this week is skewed toward older rockers, with new releases from Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Cowboy Junkies, Devo, and others.
Albums I have heard and can definitely recommend this week are Foals' Total Life Forever, Georgia Anne Muldrow's Jyoti-Ocotea, The Gaslight Anthem's American Slang, Punch Brothers' instant modern bluegrass classic Antifogmatic, and Pernice Brothers' Goodbye, Killer.
The 2-LP vinyl edition of The Cure's Disintegration is tempting. Other notable reissues out this week are Vic Chesnutt's major label debut, About To Choke and a double album vinyl release of Spiritualized's Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space.
