This Week's Interesting DVD Releases - September 21, 2010
Fall means television seasons are released en masse to DVD. This week's TV releases include two of my favorite comedies, Jonathan Ames' Bored to Death: The Complete First Season and 30 Rock: Season Four.
Other television releases include Community: The Complete First Season, How I Met Your Mother: Season Five, The Mentalist: The Complete Second Season, and the second season of the BBC's supernatural series, Being Human.
The Actuality Dramas of Allan King collects four films from the underrated Canadian director.
Other theatrical releases this week include Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Undead and a deluxe edition of the comedy Outsourced.
For fans of classic Japanese monster movies, the value two-packs of Gamera Vs. Guiron / Gamera Vs. Jiger and Gamera Vs. Gyaos / Gamera Vs. Viras should not disappoint.
Blu-ray releases of note this week include a Criterion Collection edition of Stanley Donen's Charade, American Beauty, and The Peacemaker.
