This Week's Interesting DVD Releases - October 26, 2010
The Criterion Collection releases one of my favorite Stanley Kubrick films this week, Paths of Glory, along with Nobuhiko Obayashi's 1977 movie House (both are available on Blu-ray as well.
Literary film buffs might enjoy the 1970 film adaptation of Henry Miller's Tropic of Cancer and Bazaar Bizarre (which is narrated by author James Ellroy).
Cannibal Girls is the film I am most looking forward to this week, a 1973 horror spoof starring Eugene Levy and Andrea Martin, and directed by Ivan Reitman.
Television releases this week include the police dramas CSI: NY - The Sixth Season and Law & Order UK: Season One as well as the animated Star Wars The Clone Wars: The Complete Season Two.
The documentary Who is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin' About Him)? profiles the legendary singer-songwriter.
Blu-ray devotees can pick up Alien Anthology, which collects all four films in the Alien series (each with an additional director's cut).
