This Week's Interesting Music Releases - November 16, 2010
This week Bruce Springsteen releases The Promise, a 2-CD album consisting of 21 outtakes from the Darkness on the Edge of Town recording sessions. A box set is also available that contains a remastered edition of Darkness on the Edge of Town as well as over four hours of live concert footage.
As the year winds down, the number of new releases dwindles. From this week's modest list, I can strongly recommend Faun Fables' Light of a Vaster Dark, Le Switch's The Rest of Me, The Queers' Back to the Basement, and The Russian Futurists' The Weight's on the Wheels.
Christmas discs are abundant this week, and include holiday albums by Annie Lennox, the cast of Glee, and Pink Martini
Among the week's reissues are vinyl by the Black Keys and Fugazi, and a CD reissue of Regina Spektor's Soviet Kitsch.
