This Week's Interesting Music Releases - March 15th, 2011
Two albums stand out among the week's music releases. The Dodos' No Color, the band's second, adds Neko Case to the mix for several songs and the results are outstanding. Noah and the Whale's third album Last Night on Earth is equally impressive.
Other albums I can strongly recommend this week are Brave Irene's self-titled debut (from Rose Melberg's new band), Brown Recluse's Evening Tapestry, Elbow's Build a Rocket Boys! (if you can't wait for the April 12th US release), J Mascis's Several Shades of Why, The Joy Formidable's The Big Roar, and Withered Hand's Good News.
Reissues are highlighted this week by the remastered edition of Nick Lowe' Labour of Lust which includes a bonus track. Vinyl reissues include Rilo Kiley's Take Offs and Landings, Black Sabbath's We Sold Our Souls for Rock N Roll, The Clash's Give Em Enough Rope, and the Modern Lovers: 96 Tears.
