This Week's Interesting Music Releases - March 22nd, 2011
The Strokes' much anticipated fourth album Angles is in stores tomorrow.
The week's slim release list isn't lacking in quality. From what has already come my way, I can definitely recommend Acid House Kings' Music Sounds Better With You, Baby Dee's Regifted Light, former Orange Juice frontman Edwyn Collins' Losing Sheep, Keren Ann's 101, Laura Jansen's Bells, Richard Ashcroft's first album in four years United Nations of Sound, the UK edition of The Unthanks' Last (which gets a US release in April), and singer-songwriter William Fitzsimmons' Gold in the Shadow.
Three other releases piqued my interest this week for various reasons. The Pet Shop Boys' The Most Incredible Thing is their score for a ballet, Soundgarden: Live On I-5 is a collection of live tracks from the band's 2010 reunion tour, and fpr classical music lovers, Jascha Heifetz collects 104 discs (103 CDs and one DVD) of the legendary violinist's performances.
The reissue highlight of the week is a vinyl edition of Seu Jorge's debut album, Carolina.
