This Week's Interesting Music Releases - May 24th, 2011
The Danny Elfman & Tim Burton 25th Anniversary Music Box is a 16-CD box set featuring the Oingo Boingo frontman's thirteen scores for Burton's films, and includes seven hours of unreleased material, a 250+ page book, a DVD, USB flash drive, and more.
From what has already been sent my way, I can also strongly recommend Aidan Moffat & Bill Wells' Everything's Getting Older, Boris's Attention Please, Cave In's White Silence, David Bazan's Strange Negotiations, Friendly Fires' Pala, The Moaners' Nocturnal, Nat Baldwin' People Changes, Tara Jane O'Neil and Nikaido Kazumi's self-titled album, and Thurston Moore's Demolished Thoughts (also available on blue vinyl at indie record shops and through Matador Records).
The highlight of the week's reissues is the remastered edition of Mercury Rev's Deserter's Songs, packaged with a disc of bonus material.
