This Week's Interesting DVD Releases - August 9, 2011
The week's DVD I am most anticipating is the documentary Taqwacore: The Birth of Punk Islam chronicles the Muslim punk rock movement in the United States.
Theatrical films in stores tomorrow include the comedy Paul and the dark superhero comedy Super.
Blu-ray releases include Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Dazed and Confused, and the Criterion Collection edition of The Battle of Algiers.
Television releases are high;oghted by Hey Arnold!: Season One (my wife's favorite animated series of all time), Doctor Who: Paradise Towers - Episode 149, Doctor Who: The Sun Makers - Story 95, James Ellroy's LA: City of Demons (narrated by the author), and the BBC's Top Gear: The Complete Season 16.
