This Week's Interesting Music Releases - August 9, 2011
Jay-Z & Kanye West's collaboration Watch the Throne is the week's marquee release. I am also looking forward to hearing Neil Young's Live On Air/The Lost Tapes, which collects six previously unreleased live tracks.
From what I have already heard, I can definitely recommend Army Navy's The Last Place, The Horrors' Skying, Pepper Rabbit's Red Velvet Snowball, and Scattered Trees' Sympathy.
Vinyl reissues make up the bulk of this week's music release list, including three by Belle & Sebastian (The Boy with the Arab Strap, If You're Feeling Sinister, Tigermilk), two each by Cat Power (Jukebox, The Covers Record) and Yo La Tengo (And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out, Painful), plus several others.
