This Week's Interesting Music Releases - August 23, 2011
The shortest music release list of summer includes releases by two indie rock legends, Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks' new album Mirror Traffic and Stephin Merritt's rarities collection Obscurities.
The Muppets: The Green Album collects covers of the puppets' songs by My Morning Jacket, Andrew Bird, Weezer, and others.
Ana Egge's Bad Blood, Ganglians' Still Living, and Zee Avi's Ghostbird are all albums I can heartily recommend.
Reissues include Patti Smith's Outside Society (remastered with bonus tracks) and the remastered Mickey Newbury's An American Trilogy.
