This Week's Interesting Music Releases - September 13th, 2011

Wild Flag's self-titled debut and St. Vincent's Strange Mercy are not only two of the week's strongest releases, but two of the year's finest albums.

The abundance of good music this week is exemplified by the following releases I can strongly recommend:A.A. Bondy's Believers, Blind Pilot's We Are the Tide, Blitzen Trappers's American Goldwing, CANT's Dreams Come True (Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear's side project), Gabriel Kahane's Where Are the Arms, Ladytron's Gravity the Seducer, Lydia Loveless's Indestructible Machine, Milagres' Glowing Mouth, and Mogwai: Earth Division EP.

Winterland is a 5-CD Jimi Hendrix box set that collects highlights from six 1968 San Francisco live performances.

Queen 40 Limited Edition Collector's Box Set Volume 2 is the second 10-CD box set from the band's archives, and collects the albums News of the World, Jazz, The Game, Flash Gordon, and Hot Space (with additional CDs of bonus material for each album). These remastered and expanded releases are available individually as well.

A remastered edition of Superchunk's Foolish is also in stores this week.
