This Week's Interesting Music Releases - November 8th, 2011
Laura Veirs' Tumble Bee: Laura Veirs Sings Folk Songs for Children and Jennifer O'Connor's I Want What You Want are easily the two highlights of the week in new music for me.
I can also strongly recommend Atlas Sound's Parallax, Caitlin Rose's Own Side Now, Cass McCombs' Humor Risk, Kurt Vile's So Outta Reach EP, Marissa Nadler's Covers Volume II, Olof Arnalds' covers EP Olof Sings, Owen's Ghost Town , and the Portland indie compilation Tender Loving Empire Presents Friends & Friends of Friends.
Shonen Knife's Osaka Ramones: A Tribute To The Ramones is out on CD after being available digitally for a couple of months.
Reissues include the remastered Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, also available in a
2-CD and 5-disc box set editions.
The R.E.M. greatest hits collection Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982: 2011 is available digitally on Friday (the CD is out on the 15th).
The This Mortal Coil 4-CD box set contains remastered editions of the band's three albums, plus a fourth disc of singles and unreleased songs, including a cover of Neil Young's "We Never Danced."
