This Week's Interesting Music Releases - October 2, 2012
For over 15 years I have been calling John Darnielle America's greatest lyricist, and after listening to new latest album, The Mountain Goats' Transcendental Youth, I am even more convinced that is the case.
Beth Orton's Sugaring Season, Iris Dement's Sing the Delta, Tift Merritt's Traveling Alone, and Tori Amos's Gold Dust are other quality new releases from veteran singer-songwriter.
Balmorhea's Stranger, Moon Duo's Circles, and Sun Airway's Soft Fall are also highly recommended this week.
Reiissues include two vinyl discs from Sondre Lerche, Duper Sessions and Two Way Monologue.
