This Week's Interesting DVD Releases - February 4, 2013

House of Cards Trilogy

Like many others, I started watching the new Netflix series House of Cards this weekend. So far I am intrigued, and will add its inspiration, the newly remastered original BBC series, House of Cards Trilogy, to my queue.

The Criterion Collection releases an expanded edition of Keisuke Kinoshita's The Ballad of Narayama.

Documentaries of note include Side by Side examines the past and future of filmmaking. Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel profiles the fashion icon. Somewhere Between recounts Chinese adoptees' experiences in contemporary America.

Disney reissues the animated classic Peter Pan.

What new releases are you picking up or adding to your streaming queue this week?
