Shorties (An Interview with Sarah Levy, An Interview with Philip Selway, and more)

Drinking Games by Sarah Levy

Sarah Levy discussed her memoir Drinking Games with Shondaland.

The book is raw. There’s a lot that I write about that I don’t know that I would have the guts to say to someone in person face-to-face, but I think the act of writing provides a little bit of a cocoon. It’s like you’re just talking to the page, and then you’re able to have this intimate dialogue with readers without having to be face-to-face, which for someone with anxiety also can be a little bit scary.

What’s your favorite thing about writing?

The freedom to explore questions I have in my real life through fictional scenarios, people, and structures, and to answer them for myself. To go places that I’m not going to go in my real life, where I actually don’t want things to change that much, but to get to adventure and experiment and learn more about myself. In other words: a satiation of my own curiosity, and an expansion of my inner world.

Lightspeed shared new fiction by Lincoln Michel.
